Liverpool are set to play Manchester City in the 2022 Community Shield. The traditional league curtain raiser will see last season’s FA Cup winner meet the Premier League champions just months after the pair took the top-flight season down to the final day of the campaign.
Liverpool have a number of injury worries heading into the game, most notably, Alisson Becker being unavailable. Diogo Jota will also miss the game due to a hamstring injury and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain will remain on the sidelines.
Oxlade-Chamberlain is now set to miss all of August and possibly all of September due to a severe hamstring injury.
