Liverpool and Arsenal clash at Anfield Saturday afternoon in a top of the table clash. The Reds and Gunners are the only Premier League clubs to win both matches thus far this season. After today, the Premier League will have one or no teams with perfect win records.
The two Premier League clubs have put on exciting attacking matches over the last few seasons. Will Saturday’s game be as high scoring and attack-minded as previous editions?

Liverpool defeated Norwich City on the opening day winning 4-1 and followed it up with a difficult away fixture victory at Southampton, 2-1. The Reds have had six days between their Premier League matches, which is the most rest between matches they have had since kicking off the season in the Community Shield.
Arsenal defeated Newcastle United 1-0 away before edging past Burnley 2-1 at the Emirates. Manager Unai Emery recruited additional attacking players to the club in the offseason to accent Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Alexandre Lacazette.
Klopp will be without Naby Keita yet again. The Guinean will be out for some time due to a muscle injury. Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain could get a second straight start in Liverpool’s midfield. He signed a new long-term contract this week.
However, Klopp has had six days to rest key players including Fabinho, Jordan Henderson, and Georginio Wijnaldum.
Alisson Becker and Nathaniel Clyne are also out. Alisson’s calf injury continues to be speculated about. The severity of the injury is still unknown although it has been called “serious” by Klopp. Adrian will continue in goal this weekend and for Liverpool’s additional matches in the coming weeks.
Liverpool Reds FC Blog’s view
Liverpool’s players have finally got rest. After playing the Community Shield, Liverpool played five days later against Norwich City and in the UEFA Super Cup match five days after. Three days after the cup match, a tired Liverpool defeated Southampton.
The Reds will be well-rested and Adrian’s injured ankle should be fully healed for the fixture. He was passed fit against Southampton following an injury sustained during the Super Cup celebrations.
Klopp will be able to select from a nearly full list of players for Saturday’s fixture. He will also hope that further training will have Adrian even more prepared to play alongside his defence. Liverpool’s defence played its best match of the season against Southampton. The Reds did not play a high line for the first time this term. A clean sheet was on tap until Adrian’s late mistake.
Liverpool Predicted XI versus Arsenal
Klopp will pick his strongest squad possible with Arsenal arriving on Saturday. The rest six days of rest should be a huge boost for the Reds.
Liverpool are undefeated in their last seven Premier League matches against Arsenal. Four of those matches ended in Liverpool winning. Matches have been high scoring between the two clubs. Six of their last seven matches in the Premier League have seen at least four goals a game.
