Can Liverpool win back-to-back games against Red Star Belgrade in the UCL?

Liverpool are in Serbia for Tuesday night’s Champions League fixture against Red Star Belgrade. The Reds defeated their Group C opponents on matchday 3, 4-0 at Anfield.

Manager Jurgen Klopp will have Naby Keita fit and ready against Red Star. However, the manager has left midfielder Xherdan Shaqiri — who was born in Kosovo — at home to avoid any incidents with Red Star’s passionate supporters.

Jordan Henderson and Nathaniel Clyne were left at home as they recover from injuries. In the case of Clyne, supporters will feel he may never get over the constant aches and pains to return to the level he once occupied. Clyne has appeared in just one match this term for Liverpool.

When the two clubs met at Anfield in October, it was a walk in the park for Liverpool. The Reds won 4-0 thanks to goals a goal from Roberto Firmino, two from Mohamed Salah, and one from Sadio Mane. Klopp will hope his side can continue its fine form after Saturday’s 1-1 draw with Arsenal in the Premier League.

Liverpool have obtained six points from nine in Group C and sit just one point ahead of second place Napoli. Paris Saint-Germain are third on four points. A win will be vital in the qualification for the round of 16 especially with Liverpool’s final group matches being against Napoli and PSG.
